Breast Implant Options
Living a short car ride from the beach has its many perks. With Newport and Huntington Beach as your backyard, you are never too far from a nice walk along the boardwalk or a quick oceanside getaway. However, if you are self-conscious about your figure, more specifically about the look of your breasts, you may often feel the need to cover up your body even in the hot California sun. Changes in your breasts will occur with time, whether due to aging, weight loss, or the many effects of pregnancy and breastfeeding. For Costa Mesa women wanting to regain their confidence and enhance the appearance of their breasts, breast augmentation at Pacific Coast Plastic Surgery continues to be an incredibly popular option.
Breast Enhancement for All Women
It doesn’t matter if you are a mother looking to restore breast volume lost during pregnancy, or a young woman uncomfortable with disproportionate or smaller breasts – there is a breast augmentation procedure that can be personalized to your own unique needs. Over the past decade, breast enhancement surgery has skyrocketed in popularity due to the increasing amount of options and innovations that are made available to the every-day woman.
With Pacific Coast Plastic Surgery, we will work carefully with you to design a treatment plan that will best achieve your goal look while keeping in mind other factors such as your physical size and shape. No woman will be a master of the breast augmentation procedure when she comes in for her consultation. The many options can at first seem overwhelming, but we will help guide you through the process to ensure that you feel comfortable in making informed decisions.
Your breast implant options include:
- Breast implant type (silicone gel or saline)
- Breast implant size
- Breast implant shape and profile
- Breast implant placement (over or under the pectoral muscle)
- Incision location
You may feel more comfortable making some decisions than others. For example, while you have your heart set on silicone breast implants, you may feel unsure about the placement of the implants. Our staff of highly trained plastic surgeons will help to provide you with recommendations that will best achieve your ideal look.
The Breast Augmentation Procedure
Your breast augmentation will last only about an hour. Once you are under general anesthesia, we will begin by making a discrete incision. Based on what was discussed during your consultation, this may be around the areola, along the crease beneath the breast, or in the pit of your arm. Your Pacific Coast plastic surgeon will then create a pocket in which the implant will sit – either above or beneath your pectoral muscle. Silicone implants are placed pre-filled, whereas saline implants are not filled until they have been put into place. Once your implants have been properly placed, your incisions are closed and any necessary bandages are applied.
Breast Augmentation Recovery
Now that your surgery is complete, you will begin noticing improvements in the look and feel of your breasts with each passing day. Bruising and swelling is completely normal in the beginning, so it is important to be patient throughout the initial healing. Most women are able to return to work after about 48 hours, but remember to take it easy for the first few weeks.
As your body heals, your breasts will appear younger, firmer and more feminine. Our patients often speak of how their new breasts help them feel more confident, not just in a bra or bikini, but even in a simple shirt and jeans.
