Orange County Plastic Surgeon
Keyian Z. Paydar, MD is an Associate Clinical Professor in Plastic Surgery at the University of California-Irvine. Dr. Paydar is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
He performs the full spectrum of aesthetic surgery procedures, including facial and neck procedures like face lifts, brow lifts, fat injection, eyelid surgery, and rhinoplasty, in addition to body procedures like breast enhancement, tummy tucks, and liposuction.
He is also devoted to quality skin care, offering non-surgical skin treatments such as cosmetic injections and laser skin rejuvenation. In all cases, Dr. Paydar says his goal is to “make the human body better.”
Dr. Paydar performs all types of reconstructive surgery, especially for cancer, trauma and burn patients. “I can make a difference in someone’s life; that’s why I do the work I do,” he explains.
“It’s essential to be a good listener. That’s how I can deliver what a patient is looking for.”
Before and after surgery, Dr. Paydar spends plenty of time with each patient. He never rushes and sees each patient multiple times. “Patients are often nervous,” he says, “it’s my responsibility to put them at ease and at the same time, be very clear about both the benefits and potential complications. I’m devoted to my patients and am proud to say they put their trust in me.”
First and foremost, Dr. Paydar is focused on patient safety and an excellent outcome. “The first chance is the best chance to get the right result,” he says. Before surgery, he must decide who to operate on and who not. He delves into the mindset of the patient to determine the reasons they are pursuing a particular procedure, so he can address all potential issues.
Once he is committed to proceeding with a patient, he utilizes every bit of his experience, artistry and drive to create the very best outcome possible. Dr. Paydar is a perfectionist and dedicated to surgical excellence. “Hand-eye coordination and artistry,” he says, “are essential traits for a plastic surgeon.”
Often working from 6 am to 10 pm, Dr. Paydar is usually consulting with patients, performing surgery, or doing research. “My passion is my work,” he says, “but I also enjoy music, art, and traveling to exotic places.” His first love is photography, taking his own before and after photos of patients. As an athlete, he credits his stamina and fortitude to being a long-distance runner.
